New life

Today I’m doing some studying for my new role. It would be a little difficult for me if I can’t handle the requirements so there are a lot of things that I need to read. I am finding some people here not to my liking but that’s okay, for sure this is just my first impression. I would probably start liking them sooner or later. I like my new work so far and I like doing the tasks. I just hope I don’t get bored with the same routine, I got used to the more challenging aspects of IT and somehow the product of my current role does not seem as challenging, but we’ll see. For now, I’m busy familiarizing myself with the country, hehehe. Been looking for a branch of Fitness First here, and Forever Flawless, if there’s one. Hope I find one soon.

"Regrets"

Okay... Why am I writing about regrets? Nobody should be writing about them.. we're not suppose to regret anything, philosophically speaking, however bad the mistake was, it made me a better person, right?

But honestly, can you really say that you don't regret anything in your life? If you were given the power to go back in time and change anything, would you? If you can see into the future and realize that you've become what you've always dreaded, what would you do?

A psych professor once told a class I joined that all negative emotions spring from a single source - FEAR. You fall in love, because you are afraid of being alone for the rest of your life. You hate someone because you fear them. You grieve for the dead, because you fear missing them and being lonely.

So if regret is an emotion, what am I afraid of? What do i fear? And all the philosopical and self-help bull aside, what should i do so i won't regret anything?

Everyday, the decisions we make keep piling up. Innocent ones, big, life-changing ones. Even down to the amount of tip for the aesthetician at Flawless last Monday. Haaay...I've made decisions that affected my life in ways i never dreamt possible.

If Anne of Green Gables had a bend in the road, now I have a fork. If these roads were ice cream flavors, I'd taste both and choose the better tasting one. But that would mean buying two flavors and tossing the other. Not really a good way to resolve the issue, isn't it? But really, how would one know which ice cream flavor is better? Okay, here's another solution, what about I do a market research on the ice cream flavors. The flavor that more people prefer would have a better chance then. But what about the brand? What if the other brand makes better flavor than the other brand? Then I would need to try out all
the brands... Or.. I can make my own ice cream....

Really.. i wish life was a little simpler...
